About the Project
This attic conversion in San Antonio, TX 78249 transformed underused storage space into a finished home office and home gym. By working within the home’s existing footprint, GTex General Contracting created functional new living space without constructing a traditional addition.
The original attic layout was similar to many homes in the neighborhood, with valuable square footage being used only for storage. The finished design gives the homeowners dedicated areas for working and exercising while making better use of space they already owned.
The renovation was completed in three phases, with each phase taking no longer than three weeks. This project demonstrates how a professionally planned attic conversion can improve everyday function and add usable square footage to a San Antonio home.
Three views of the transformation: The unfinished attic shows exposed roof framing, ductwork and the original floor surface. In the work-in-progress view, wallboard begins to define the room beneath the roof. The completed photograph shows painted sloping ceilings, finished flooring, white baseboards and a small access door.
Following those stages makes the change clear: an unfinished area beneath the roof became the home office and gym described in this project. The finished room retains the roof’s sloping shape, showing how the new interior fits within the existing space.
