GTex General Contracting transformed this San Antonio bathroom by replacing the existing bathtub and enclosed shower with a spacious custom walk-in shower. The original bathing area had a tub beneath the window and a smaller shower beside it.
The finished shower brings textured white wall tile, pebble-stone flooring, black fixtures, glass and a recessed niche into one coordinated space. The before-and-after photographs show how the renovation changed the use and appearance of the bathing area.
The wall tile is the defining feature of this shower. Its relief pattern catches light differently across the surface, while the pebble finish in the niche relates to the shower floor. Black fixtures stand out against the white tile.
The window remains a prominent part of the finished bathing area. Glass above the half walls allows a view of the tile and window, giving homeowners a clear example of how an enclosure can work with a distinctive wall finish.
